Finally. After a few false alarms it seems like winter is making it’s grand entrance this week. Maybe even to stay? That would be so nice.
There’s nothing quite as comforting as sipping hot chocolate, listen to the rain pitter patter, and bundle up inside. Of course, it’s hard to get out of bed and make your way to work. We totally get it. That’s why we love scarves, gloves and all winter yummy-warm related items.
In the summer we spoke about DIY ice coffee. Did you try it? You still can.
Now, we’re bringing back an oldy. It’s so good I couldn’t allow winter to begin without having this recipe re-appear on this corner of the internet where cake lovers come together.
If you need to eat something with your hot chocolate (crazy idea, I know) – just about anything will do. Chocolate cake or brownies to double the impact. Healthy muffins if you’re trying to be umm, healthy (why?). Delicious cinnamon buns with maple glaze (YES because it’s winter and leaves are falling) – recipe to come. Or, for those of you who love quick amazing service…we’re fully stocked at the bakery! Loads of baked goods available for you. (almost) All. Day. Long.
Come on over. Or call. Or email. You got it 🙂
Now – let’s talk DIY hot cocoa.
1 cup of cocoa
2 cups of sugar and
1 cup of confectioners sugar
Mix all and store in a container.
Fill a cup with milk and either warm on the stove top or pop in the microwave. Stir in a Tablespoon of the cocoa mixture (adjust to your taste)and top with marshmallows or whip cream.
