I am so excited. I just found this fabulous Red Velvet cake recipe and in fact I think it is so Awesome I am going to share it with you. We, at the Kosher Cakery, love finding and trying new recipes. My daughter Racheli loves red velvet cake. So of course we HAD to find the perfect recipe so we could make it ourselves. Try it yourself and tell us what you think. Or better yet share your favorite recipe with us.

Chocolate Red Velvet Cake Racheli they all came back for seconds”

3-4 Tablespoons COCOA powder

2oz red food coloring   1 cp soymilk

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla                               1 cup oil

2 cups sugar                               2 eggs

2 ½ cups flour sifted                   1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon vinegar

Grease 2    9” round pans Preheat oven to 350 (175c)

Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring and set aside

Combine soymilk, salt and vanilla set aside

In large bowl cream together oil and sugar till fluffy and then add eggs one at a time

Then stir in cocoa mixture

Beat in soymilk alternately with flour mixing until JUST incorporated

Stir together vinegar and baking soda then gently fold into batter

Pour into prepared pans

Bake 30 min cool completely before frosting

 

FROSTING

8 oz cream cheese                     ¼ cp butter

1 tsp vanilla                               2 cp confec sugar

Mix cream cheese and butter then add other ingred and frost cake
