Well it is that time of year, it is cold outside and all we want is something warm and yummy to drink. In general I am a big tea person; nice strong British tea. But sometimes what I really want is to snuggle up under a nice soft blanket and a  delicious cup of really rich chocolaty hot chocolate. Not the kind from a packet, the kind that Grandma used to make. Well we have a recipe for that. To tell you the truth I stumbled on it by mistake one day. I was making a Babka and this was part of the filling, I had to do something with the left over and decided to try it out as hot chocolate. WOW was it good.
Mix together 1 cup of cocoa, 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of confectionery sugar. Â Don’t worry that you will have left overs just save it for the next time you want a nice warm cup of cocoa. It is as easy as a packet. Fill a cup with milk and either warm on the stove top or pop in the microwave. Stir in a Tablespoon of the cocoa mixture (adjust to your taste)and top with marshmallows or whip cream or you could add a shot of Kahlua.
