Hi Everyone,
Not too long ago I had a request for a NINJAGO cake. Ok I admit I had no idea what NINJAGO’s were. My kids are all grown and I do not always hear about the latest craze. Yes I have heard all about FROZEN, but that is for another time, or cake.
Well after finding out what NINJAGO’s were I was very excited, these guys looked adorable, and how cute to buy some LEGO candy and put it on the cake. So while my little NINJAGO pieces dried, I went to the candy store to find LEGO candy. This candy store sells everything so imagine my surprise to find they did not have any
. So I hopped a bus and went to the next big candy store, and they also did not have LEGO candy. I came home and after a few phone calls trying to explain what I wanted in another language; I finally gathered LEGO candy is not sold in this country. Now that changes things.
I would have to make it myself. I do not have a LEGO fondant cutter, which means I was going to have to do this completely the old fashioned way, one brick at a time, by hand. But then I found I had a square and rectangle cookie cutter the same width and realized these LEGO’s would be perfect. I started rolling out the Red, Yellow, Blue and Green fondant and cut out small rectangles and squares. Then I used a #12 tip and using the tip I cut out circles of eah color to put on top of the Lego bricks. I secured the tops with vanilla and let the LEGO bricks dry.
The fun part was adding them all over the cake. The little boy loved it, and all his friends enjoyed eating the LEGO’s. Now you can make this too.
